Raymond Rheaume

Memorial Web Page

This page was created to keep the memory of my Grandfather, Raymond Rheaume, alive in our hearts. I came up with the idea because he passed away before he could meet my youngest son and I wanted him and my other children to know the kind of man that their Great Grandfather was. He passed away on the day he and his wife Betty were going to California to visit my mother, Irene (Rheaume) Amaral, his oldest child. My family and I were going to meet him at the airport. It would be his first chance to meet his newest Great Grandson, Joseph Kenika Amaral. Since then we have had a another daughter and she will get to know her Great Grandfather because of everyone recording their memories of him!

Roland E. Gobeil - Son-in-Law (Daughter Jeanne's Husband)

Fondest Memory:

I remember my father-in-law for all the things he did for Jeanne and I. In our Early life especially Mom and Dad coming to Virginia, picking (up) Jeanne and moving her back to Dartmouth. Two weeks Later I was so lonesome I returned to Dartmouth and picked her back up and brought her Back to Virginia. Another big Item in my life is when they helped me buy our first house by telling the banker we had put down a decent down payment which at that time we did not have 200 dollars. I also remember all the loving Care they gave our children in the years we where in Mass. The time he visited us at all our different assignments, he always was very interested In all my Projects. I will miss him greatly. He was a Father to me and I will never forget him.

Love You Dad,

Roland

Jeanne (Rheaume) Gobeil - Daughter

Fondest Memory:

I'll always remember Dad smile and willingness to help. He was a good man and good father. I'll miss his smile and even though he's not here any longer he'll still be with us as mom is always been with me. He was not a rich man but he could make us feel like a millionaire with his kind words and great sense of humor. I think he would have enjoyed this day and had a good laugh with us. I'm sure he's a happy man today being with Mom.

Ed Amaral - Son-in-Law (Daughter Irene's Husband)

Fondest Memory:

Although oceans apart our special bond was never broken. I remember in the 1970's, when Dad used to come out to Calif. every Christmas. He loved to go to Santa Anita racetrack on opening day. He also enjoyed going to Las Vegas on a weekend. I will miss you dearly and my prayers will be with you always. I love you Dad.

Irene (Rheaume) Amaral - Daughter

I'll always remember dad for the great family man that he was, he loved family get togethers and loved to laugh and have a good time. He also loved watching sports especially the Red Sox. I'm sure he's still cheering for them as they are playing in the American league playoffs.

Dad also loved to help us with homework when we were in grammar school especially with math (arithmetic in those days). He was always willing to help others, in his later years in Florida with Betty, he helped other neighbors who couldn't get around to go to the store or church etc., that's just the way he was. We'll always remember you dad for the great person you were to all of us! I love you & miss you very much.

Ed Amaral Jr. - Grandson (Son of Irene)

Fondest Memory:

I remember Péperè always having a smile on his face. He was always happy. He was a caring person and loved all of his family. He enjoyed being with all his family and extended family and friends. Everyone's life was better having known my Grandfather.

Péperè you'll be missed by everyone.

I love you very much.

Fondest Memory:

I will always remember dad as a loving person. He had a zest for life. He loved to travel. His love for the Red Sox.

Leo Rheaume - Son

Fondest Memory:

(I remember) His love for his family. He traveled for many years to each of his children and step children just so he could share his life with us all. He did so very much with the little that he had.

Our love for sports and we where both big time fans of all sports. But we had some big disagreements on this subject. That I'm really going to miss.

I will remember most that dad lived a full life right to the final minute. I wish I could follow in his footsteps.

Dad, I Love You

I saved the best for last. I think all fathers would like to hear that from their sons!
